Metropolis

Have you guys ever heard of "Metropolis"?

"Metropolis is a 1927 German expressionist film in the science-fiction genre directed by Fritz Lang. Produced in Germany during a stable period of the Weimar Republic, Metropolis is set in a futuristic urban dystopia and makes use of the sci-fi context to explore a political theme of the day: the social crisis between workers and owners in capitalism." via Wikipedia

Here's a clip from the original motion picture.

Anyway I would love to see this movie remade today, with the technology we have now, it would be such a sight if it was done correctly.

Artist like Janelle Monae used this film for an adaptation to her album, and it's pretty damn amazing!

but yeah that's just a thought! Maybe someone will read this and go "ohhh yeah Let's do it!!!!"

Generation Now!

Photobucket

Not to long ago we were considered Generation X, but I think its time for a change!

It is the day to be thankful, and on this day am gaining more and more appreciation for this generation. The reason why? I just experienced one of the most inspiring episodes of the Fox Tv hit show "Glee".

I have always been a fan of this show, but this episode was so touching for many reasons.
Relationships were being restored, honesty was being shown, the music choices were perfect for this episode and soooo touching. I wish there was a way i could show you guys the episode, but maybe u can check it out on Fancast.com

Glee is one of the BEST original shows of our generation. Please keep it coming Glee.

As much as I have disliked a lot of things in this generation, I Hope this show is a sample of whats to come.

Legends

Photobucket

Often ignored, or not recognized, African American women have been the backbone of our society for as long as I can remember. Being raised by my grandmother, I will always have a great respect for black women. There is a nurturing spirit and a drive about them. We should be more appreciative of the women in our lives, because even though you may not know, they sacrifice a lot for us.

I take my cue from Oprah, (although I'm super late) I've heard all about the Legends Ball, but I had never seen footage of it. Inspiring is an understatement, I couldn't form my fingers to type the words of the energy that was in that room, the love, the support. All of these beautiful successful, young and old and all in between women. They were separated into two categories "Legends" & "Youngins"

The Legends included 25 women Maya Angelou, Shirley Caesar, Diahann Carroll, Elizabeth Catlett, Ruby Dee, Katherine Dunham, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Nikki Giovanni, Dorothy Height, Lena Horne, Coretta Scott King, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Toni Morrison, Rosa Parks, Leontyne Price, Della Reese, Diana Ross, Naomi Sims, Tina Turner, Cicely Tyson, Alice Walker, Dionne Warwick, and Nancy Wilson

The Youngins included Michelle Obama, Yolanda Adams, Debbie Allen, Tyra Banks, Angela Bassett, Judith Jamison, Suzan-Lori Parks, Kathleen Battle, Halle Berry, Terry McMillan, Mary J. Blige, Brandy, Naomi Campbell, Mariah Carey, Ashanti, Natalie Cole, Kimberly Elise, Missy Elliott, Pam Grier, Iman, Beverly Johnson, Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Chaka Khan, Audra McDonald, Pearl Cleage, Phylicia Rashād, Valerie Simpson, Anna Deavere Smith and Alfre Woodard,

.....Like No One is Watching

No Matter how much we say...we always care what people think about who we are.
Sometimes we go through pain and sorrow and we hold it all inside, for the fear that other people may think we are weak, and or vulnerable.

We should all learn how to express ourselves in other ways. Extend your emotions through other things, if you cant do it like everyone else, find your way.

The following video is so inspiring to me, because not only are these people talented dancers, but you can feel the emotion as you watch this video. The combination of the music and the movement makes me feel everything I'm going through.

Improving (BTW)

The saying goes "Dance like nobodies watching" let out all of your feelings with every extension of your arm and leg and swivel of your body.
